Canada's Big Shootout - EYCC Edition

It's Curling Day in Canada and we're celebrating by competing in a shootout against curling clubs across the country. 

The Challenge

Have more club members draw to the button (covering the pin) in 30 minutes, on a single sheet, than any other club in Canada.  

The first hour will be used for warmup, followed by about an hour of throwing and sweeping. The entire event will be recorded and the best 30 minute section submitted for the competition.  

The Prize

The winning club gets $5000 in cash to support youth programs. 

How You Can Participate

As a Thrower: Bring your draw weight and show us how it's done!

As a Sweeper: The pace will be fast, so if sweeping is your jam (or it's cardio day) join us!

As a Volunteer: Moving rocks, moving people, and more. It'll take a village to make this event a success!

How It Works

• Throwers will be placed in groups of 4 - 6 and will rotate through taking their shots. 

• Once a rock is released, the next thrower in line immediately gets into the hack.

• The next rock should be released while the previous rock is still in motion to maximize our chances of success.

• If you make the shot - congratulations!  Join the sweeping teams, or cheer on the others from the lounge.

• If you miss several shots in a row, step out and head over to the practice sheet or join the sweepers. You may get another chance to throw. 

• We'll be recording the active sheet for as long as possible and will edit out a 30-minute section in which the most successful shots are made. 

• Stick around after the event for free pizza in the lounge!
