EYCC Awards
There are three awards given out by the East York Curling Club:
- The Dave Prentice Award
- The Volunteer of the Year Award
- Honorary Lifetime Membership
Dave Prentice Award
Named after one of East York Curling Club's members, most recognized for starting the World Junior Championship, the Dave Prentice Award is given out to those who have given outstanding service to EYCC or distinguished themselves as curlers. This is the highest honour at the East York Curling Club and not given out annually. It is presented at the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Party.
Nominations will be accepted in writing throughout the year by email to [email protected], in person by filling out a paper nomination form, or by filling out this online email form. The annual cut off date for nominations is April 30th.
Criteria for Nomination
- Outstanding achievement in the sport of curling
- Exemplary volunteer service & leadership
- Championing new initiatives and events
- Significant contributions to the growth of the club & the curling community

Volunteer of the Year Award
This award recognizes an individual volunteer that has shown exemplary service and dedication to the East York Curling Club. This can include pioneering new projects, fostering & promoting our sense of community & relationships, encouraging active participation in the club, etc.
Nominations are submitted and voted on by the volunteers of EYCC in April of each year.

Honourary Lifetime Membership
An Honourary Life Member is an individual who has contributed outstanding service to the EYCC which is deemed to warrant special recognition. An Honourary Life Member retains all the rights of a Regular Member but are exempted from any membership fees. This award is not given out annually and is presented at the Annual General Meeting.
Nominations can be submitted to the Board of Directors in writing at any point during the season.
